About Us

Ashvath Srinivas, Founder of ‘Bake To Grow’ (BTG).

Bake To Grow (BTG) is a social initiative of 17 year old ASHVATH SRINIVAS, a student at the AMERICAN SCHOOL OF BOMBAY in Mumbai. A self-taught baker who started to experiment and learn baking at a tender age of 6 and by the age of 14, running a small part-time bakery business from home!

Our Mission

Ashvath’ passion and compassion gave birth to ‘Bake To Grow’ (BTG) (bake_to_grow Instagram handle) initiative in year 2022.

The mission of BTG is to teach baking to underprivileged young girls and women for free so that they can learn the baking skills and become financially independent. Tejashri an enthusiastic baker, helped Ashvath in his endeavour of teaching baking to BTG members. She’s an engineer by profession and owns a small baking studio in Andheri.

Seed Funding

Funds were raised by Ashvath with the support of his friends and family members to buy a few Ovens and some important baking tools for his first batch of students who showed keen interest to start baking from home to earn some money and support their families. Some of the friends came forward to help our team members with baking ingredients too.

In June 2023 with some financial help from his parents and other empathetic donors, Ashvath along with his BTG team started a small independent bakery unit in Khar West, Mumbai. It’s a dream come true and brings lot of hope in the lives of for Mantasha ,Aditi, Nafisa and Adiba. They are working hard to pursue their dream of becoming excellent bakers and economically independent women of today.

They started as students with a purpose, passion and quest to learn baking. In a year’ time they are conducting workshops, teaching the art of baking to young school/college girls and home makers in their neighbourhood. They also conducted workshops at Vatsalya Foundation in Bandra, which was a good start to teach and earn some money. Since then there’s been no looking back.

Aditi More

Graphic designer as well as part of BTG

Aditi More is working as a part time graphic designer as well as part of BTG team. Her dream is to build a better life and future for my family.
She joined Ashvath’ Bake To Grow team while studying in junior college . Since she did not have much to study during the weekends so decided to join BTG classes for free. Though she was always keen to learn baking but lacked self confidence and resources. With each class and practice Aditi developed more liking for baking; with the encouragement from the BTG team she gained confidence in myself. She was drawn to the aroma of freshly baked cupcakes, brownies , cakes etc. It acted as a therapy more than a learning class. She glad that she found her calling. Ashvath’ BTG social initiative helped us in getting a free oven and a few bakery tools required for practise in our free time. All BTG members are nice, helpful and friendly . It’s more of a family working together towards a common goal for a better future.
Aditi is thankful to Ashvath for giving her an opportunity to be part of the BTG team, Ms Tejashri for being a good teacher and support of other Bake To Grow members have become her strength. It took some time for Aditi to become a confident baker with practice and preparation of each cake / cupcakes order.

Adiba Khan

Adiba Khan

Baker as Member of BTG

This is Adiba Khan. A graduate from Rizvi college. She explored a few areas of her interest like a beauty course or dress designing course while in college. They were interesting but too expensive and then she got an opportunity to join Ashvath’ Bake To Grow team. Adiba learnt a few things and realised that she had a knack for baking. She continued to learn different bakery items starting with cupcakes, brownies, sponge cakes etc. With every class her interest in baking grew and finally decided to pursue baking as a serious career path. She got to attend a few more certified workshops to hone her baking skills and knowledge. With the encouragement and support from Ashvath and discovery of her own talent and interest, today Adiba can bake a variety of items in large quantities. The BTG unit in Khar is a learning and earning platform. In due course she would like to go for a renowned baking course and become a well known baker in Mumbai.
